So here we are in February, still on a diet, still slowly losing weight thanks to those carbs that just scream my name when I look at them. I think in the last week I might have gained a pound or two, and if I had been keeping up with my workouts maybe I would feel better about it, but no, I know that these pounds are from eating and not following the diet close enough. Its time to buckle down for sure. Monday before getting into the shower I thought I would weigh myself. I got on the scale and I just could not believe what I saw...130 pounds! That was 5 pounds more than my doctor told me I should lose. I was only ten pounds away from my goal! I was doing a victory dance and screamed for my sister so I could tell her the good news. As I was in the shower and still victory dancing, I wondered if the bath mat underneath the scale made a difference. After getting out of the shower I weighed myself again. Yes the bath mat made a difference. It made an 8 pound difference. Not wanting to depress myself, I just thought "I am only 3 pounds away from what I was at the end of the summer (the weight that I almost always am) and about 13 to 18 away from my goal. I have lost pretty much 20 pounds and I need to feel good about that. So this week, before I go out both Friday and Saturday for birthdays, I need to strictly follow this diet and I need to for the next month or so to shed this weight. One thing I am very proud of, is doing this. I have never committed even this much to any diet or workout plan. I have gotten a little off course in the last couple days, but I am very proud of myself for doing something about the weight gain before it's too late.
Grace is now off of the diet and has headed up to Blue Mountain for her annual women's weekend. Grace lost most of the holiday weight and just has the last bit to go, but what I have learned is sometimes you need a day or two off from the diet, just to feel normal for a bit.
As for the youtube video, I realized shortly after posting the last blog that I forgot to add a link to the video. We will have some more up next week. The actual link for the video is :

Salon News
Image Makeover is now on youtube! In our first video, Grace shows you how to get a great glam look for a night out. Using rollers to get body and movement and how to get that sexy smokey eye look. you can watch the video here:
As for the diet, Grace has been doing really well and doesn't have much more to go, I on the other hand will need some more time. According to my scale at home, I have lost about 7-8 pounds. This is great motivation and will keep me on track. I have about 23 more to go. I'm finding that working out is really helping me stay focused when I feel like eating a loaf of bread. This program has really helped me find other things to eat when I get that snacking feeling. I used to turn to chips or chocolate, and now I turn to green peppers or cherry tomatoes or even snow peas! I have to admit that I did cheat Tuesday when I went out with friends and had nachos. I instantly felt like crap and I know I over ate. Thats another thing I'm learning, once I'm hungry I need to stop eating. I am more motivated than ever now and I am committed to being healthy and to looking and feeling great!

January blues
So it's a new year and the holiday season wasn't exactly easy on our figures. It's too bad all of those wonderful foods are not healthy too. So Grace and I are doing the Ideal Protein diet to help shed some of those pounds. It is only the third day of the diet and it is getting easier. This is the first real diet I have done. I mean I have tried to do the healthy eating thing but it only lasts about a day or two and then I'm back to wings and beer come Saturday. Grace did this diet last year and it seemed like the extra holiday pounds just melted off, and that is why I have decided to do this one. I really like that Bob, who runs the program, goes through everything with you to make sure everything is understood and it will be a safe weight loss process. Everything is clear about what I can eat and what I can't and that makes it really easy. I am also using my wii at home to burn some calories. I am surprised at how much I actually sweat while dancing and boxing!
So I hate to do this but I think it will be a great motivator for me and that is, posting my weight here and what I hope to get to. So as of Tuesday January 4 I weigh 154 lbs. The heaviest I have ever been. And my goal is 125 lbs. or less.
This week's beauty tip is oro fluido. If you have been in the salon lately I'm sure you have heard us talking about it. It's a beauty elixir for your hair that adds moisture, shine and helps protect the hair. It also speeds drying time and you can use it to style your hair once it's dry! Oro fluido is perfect for this time of year because hair is drier and doesn't shine like it does in the summer. Put some life back into your hair and give oro fluido a try. Just ask about it next time you're in.
